Job overview

Reporting to the Managing Director, and working as part of the management team, you will manage a small team that will deliver robust sourcing strategies for both direct and indirect spend.  This will involve developing best practice procurement processes and procedures and a supplier base capable of supporting the company’s strategic purchasing objectives. 


Through robust leading sourcing and supplier selection activities you will develop SLAs that underpin the company’s need for responsibility sourced high quality products and services, that are commercially viable, cost effective and delivered on time.  You will also be responsible for identifying potential supply chain risks, developing plans to mitigate, whilst ensuring compliance and governance. 


To be successful in this role:

  • Educated to Degree level or have equivalent employment experience. Ideally MCIPS or working towards is desirable, as is working legal knowledge of supply contracts.
  • Well organised, disciplined, and self-motivated, with the capability to balance multiple priorities.  
  • A team player, with a proactive “can do” approach. 
  • Excellent persuasion and influencing skills to source and purchase the best quality equipment, goods and services at the most competitive prices.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen.
  • Analytical, strategic-thinker and planner.
  • A leader with demonstrable experience of inspiring, coaching, developing and motivating staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to form and maintain strong working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
