Customade Finishes The Foil FrustrationDate: Nov 2 2009
Customade has made a strategic investment of £80,000, which for the first time ever, will stamp out installer and fabricator frustrations on the long lead times and unrealistic order values often associated with foiled products. The move by the Gloucestershire-based trade fabricator brings an extensive suite of foiled woodgrain products in white, cream, black and oak on a standard lead time with no minimum order value. John Adams, Customade’s Sales Director, says: “Foiled woodgrain products have seen a huge growth in the last few years because they bring more choice to the industry and a greater sense of style and individuality to the end user. The two classic problems that we hear about time and time again are the long lead times, which can be up to eight weeks, and the high minimum order values. These issues prevent many installers and fabricators, but especially the smaller operators, from ever being able to offer woodgrains as part of their range. It’s a crying shame that these businesses, which are struggling in very tough market conditions, cannot benefit from the extra business that foiled products could bring to them.” Following a period of consultation with customers and in-depth research into the market, Customade decided to make the investment into foiled woodgrain stock at its 50,000 square feet factories in Gloucestershire. It is the first and only package available to installers and fabricators who want to widen their product offering and increase their profit potential, but without the inconvenience of long lead times. Smaller fabricators will also appreciate Customade having no minimum order value, which eliminates the financial burden of having to hold stock themselves.
